The Breakers are proud to host the 3rd Annual Breakers Give Back Event on Monday, December 16th, at 6:00 PM in support of The Daybreak Parent and Child Centre. This cherished event is an opportunity for our team and community to come together and make a tangible difference in the lives of families in need.
The Daybreak Parent and Child Centre, a vital organization in our community, is “dedicated to supporting children and families within our communities to help them reach their fullest potential.” By participating in this event, we are helping them fulfill this mission and spreading the joy of giving during the holiday season.
For our new players unfamiliar with the tradition, here’s how the evening will unfold:
• Meeting Point: All players will gather at RFM at 6:00 PM, where the team will provide each player with $20 to shop for donations.
• Shopping Together: We’ll head to Pipers to purchase much-needed items requested by the Centre.
• Organizing and Giving: After shopping, we’ll return to the rink to organize our donations and present them to a Daybreak representative.
• Holiday Spirit: Christmas hats, shirts, and festive attire are encouraged!
One of our dedicated hockey moms, Corina Crocker, who serves as a Board Member for Daybreak, has provided a list of the Centre’s most-needed items:
• Personal care items (for all ages): deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, body wash, soap
• Baby essentials: diapers and wipes
• Warm clothing: socks, slippers, hats, and mittens
• Non-perishable food items
If you have any extras of these items at home, feel free to bring them along. Every contribution matters and adds to the impact of this initiative.
The Breakers Give Back Event is more than just a donation drive; it’s a chance to share an unforgettable experience of kindness and generosity as a team. By working together, we can help bring comfort, warmth, and hope to families in need this holiday season.
Thank you to everyone for your unwavering support throughout the season. Let’s make this event another success and a meaningful part of our team’s legacy.
We look forward to seeing you all there!
Please support this wonderful initiative by bringing items to our game on Monday, December 16th, at Robert French Memorial.
