Partnership Announcement — U18 AAA Eastern Icebreakers & Attain Physiotherapy
Dear Parents / Guardians,
We are pleased to announce that for the upcoming season, the U18 AAA Eastern Icebreakers female hockey team has entered into a formal partnership/sponsorship with Attain Physiotherapy & Sport Performance Centre. Under this agreement, Attain will serve as our official provider of the following services for our athletes:
Dry-land (off-ice) training
Concussion assessment, management, and rehabilitation
Physiotherapy
Sports rehabilitation
This partnership reflects our commitment to providing high-quality, professional support to our athletes — not only on the ice, but in all aspects of training, injury prevention, recovery, and performance enhancement.
Attain is a locally operated multidisciplinary clinic based in St. John’s, Newfoundland & Labrador.
Founded in July 2022 by Certified Sports Physiotherapist Jeff Webber. Attain was built with the mission of offering athletes in our province comprehensive performance and rehabilitation care under one roof.
Some key features and services of Attain include:
A state-of-the-art facility with a full gym, advanced weight lifting equipment, and a large turf area for dynamic movement and sport-specific rehabilitation
A collaborative, integrated approach combining physiotherapy, strength & conditioning, kinesiology, massage therapy, chiropractic services, return-to-sport programs, nutrition support, and more
Concussion services, including baseline testing, assessment, and rehabilitation protocols
Flexibility in scheduling (evenings and short-notice appointments) to accommodate athletes’ training and game schedules
Direct billing to many insurance plans, and no need for a physician’s referral to access many services (though some insurers may require a referral)
On-site event support, meaning Attain’s team is experienced in providing rehabilitation and first-aid services at sporting events
The clinical team includes registered physiotherapists, kinesiologists, massage therapists, chiropractors, and a dietitian, all working together to support health, recovery, and peak performance.
With Attain as our official provider this season, here’s how our players will benefit:
Coordinated Dry-land Training
Off-ice, strength, mobility, and conditioning work will be designed and supervised by Attain’s kinesiologists and strength & conditioning staff, in communication with our coaching team. This ensures that dry-land programs are sport-specific, periodized, and tailored to each athlete’s needs.
Concussion Management Services
All baseline concussion testing, post-injury assessments, and return-to-play rehabilitation will be coordinated through Attain. This gives us a standardized, high-level protocol to manage head injuries safely and effectively.
Physiotherapy & Injury Care
For any sprains, strains, overuse issues, or musculoskeletal injuries, athletes can access Attain’s physiotherapy services. This will help with timely assessment, hands-on treatment, and structured rehab.
Sports Rehabilitation & Return-to-Play Protocols
When injuries occur, the rehabilitation process will be guided by evidence-based protocols. Progression will be carefully monitored, and return to sport will be overseen by Attain in coordination with our coaches and staff.
Continuity & Communication
Because Attain offers multiple services under one roof, communication across domains (physio, strength, rehab) is more seamless. This helps prevent gaps or conflicting programs, and supports holistic athlete care.
Preferential Access & Coordination
As our designated partner, athletes on the team can expect streamlined access to services, prioritized scheduling, and coordinated planning (versus seeking disparate providers).
We strongly encourage all athletes (and parents) to familiarize yourselves with Attain’s services early in the season so that when injuries or performance needs arise, we can move quickly and with trust.
